This smoothie is a great way to get your daily dose of greens & vitamin C.
Vitamin C is found in citrus fruits and a variety of greens.
Functions of Vitamin C:
Vitamin C plays an important role in reproductive system function. It helps to regulate the menstrual cycle and ovarian function.
Vitamin C may be beneficial in boosting immune system function and aiding detoxification processes within the liver.
Vitamin C is supportive of adrenal gland function. The adrenal glands are two triangular shaped endocrine glands that are located near the top of our kidneys. The adrenal glands are responsible for regulating our stress response and the secretion of stress hormones. The adrenal glands require vitamin C for the release of stress hormones norepinephrine and epinephrine. For this reason, vitamin C can become depleted during prolonged periods of stress.
This is my go to smoothie when I need to soothe inflammation in my gut. I also love having this smoothie when I am trying to rebalance my body after a period of stress.
